Cal Poly MBA Program: MBA Dual Programs
Bridge Worlds By Pursuing A Dual DegreeYour career goals may bridge academic disciplines and require expertise in two or more areas. In the Cal Poly Orfalea College of Business Graduate Program we accommodate and encourage students with a desire to pursue two graduate degrees simultaneously.
Our dual degree option is inspired by the world in which our students will ultimately work-a world in which no one works alone or in just one discipline, and in which it is imperative to understand and master a variety of skills. Our strategy is to encourage cross-disciplinary learning that fits the many paths future business leaders may pursue-from engineering, science and computer science to sociology, economics, environmental policy, architecture, agricultural politics, and more.
Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo offers several options to pursue a dual degree.
- MBA & MS Engineering Management Program Option: The dual-degree Engineering Management Program (EMP) is an interdisciplinary program linking the MBA with an MS in Engineering Management. It is a cooperative effort between the Orfalea College of Business and the Cal Poly College of Engineering (Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering Department).
- MBA & MS in an Engineering Discipline Option: Customize the pursuit of a Dual Degree by informally linking your MBA with any MS degree program offered at Cal Poly. For instance, pair your MBA with a MS Engineering, MS Aerospace Engineering, MS Civil & Environmental Engineering, MS Computer Science, MS Electrical Engineering, MS Industrial Engineering or MS Mechanical Engineering.
The mission of the MBA Dual Degree option is to develop high quality industry ready graduates who will be facilitators of change and integrators of engineering, business, and people issues.
The major objectives of this program are to:
- Integrate knowledge and skills from engineering and business disciplines for effective responses to rapidly changing technological and business environments.
- Take advantage of the unique background of program participants and the unique strengths of Cal Poly.
